We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled DT Technician to join our client's successful Design & Technology department. The ideal candidate will support teachers and students across a range of DT disciplines, including Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, and Food Technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, maintain, and organise materials, tools, and equipment for practical lessons

  • Support teachers during practical sessions and provide technical guidance to students

  • Ensure all machinery and equipment are maintained safely and in accordance with regulations

  • Manage stock levels, order resources, and keep the prep areas well-organised

  • Produce prototypes, demonstration models, and teaching aids as required

  • Promote and maintain high health & safety standards throughout the department

  • Support whole-school events, extracurricular activities, and project work where needed

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • Practical experience with workshop machinery and tools (e.g., saws, sanders, 3D printers, laser cutters)

  • A good understanding of health & safety in a workshop/school environment

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks

  • A proactive, flexible, and hands-on approach

  • Good communication skills and an ability to work as part of a team

  • (Desirable) A relevant qualification or experience in DT, engineering, or a related technical field

  • (Desirable) Experience working in education, though full training can be provided
