Our client are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Manager to lead the operational management and provide effective leadership of the HR function at a school. This role is crucial in ensuring a high-quality and responsive HR service, supporting the delivery of the School’s strategic people objectives and continuous improvement of all HR operations.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Manage the HR team, providing operational line management, supervision, direction, support, coaching, training, and development.
  • Develop HR systems and practices to ensure accurate, up-to-date, and effective management information is available to support people decisions.
  • Provide regular, accurate, and clear people metric information to enable benchmarking and to inform business decisions.
  • Ensure all contractual information is current and up-to-date, reflecting the correct employment situation.
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance processes and standards in relation to HR practices.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly payroll and audit compliance.
  • Oversee and manage visa applications and ensure that HR policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and updated in light of legislative changes.
  • Support managers to proactively manage colleague’s wellbeing, liaising with Occupational Health and other outside support agencies as necessary.
  • Oversee and manage all School people contracts e.g., agencies, systems, Occupational Health, legal advice, DBS checks etc.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and support to managers in relation to people processes and actively engage with colleagues and managers to support, advise, and resolve issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • CIPD Level 7
  • Proven experience in HR management within an educational or similar setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing HR teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of HR systems, practices, and quality assurance processes.
  • Experience in handling complex casework and people projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage with legal advisors and manage complex employee relations cases.
