Town Planner - Creative, Multidisciplinary Practice
Location: Shropshire (Hybrid)
Salary: 30,000 - 45,000 DOE + benefits

Are you a dynamic and strategic Town Planner looking for your next challenge in a creative, collaborative, and design-led environment? We are working with a forward-thinking, multidisciplinary consultancy that specialises in delivering high-quality, meaningful places across the UK. From garden centres and farm shops to green infrastructure and leisure developments, their work balances strategy, creativity, and delivery to bring ideas to life.

As a third-party recruitment partner, we are supporting this well-established and respected practice to find a talented and driven Town Planner to join their growing team in one of the UK's most distinctive work settings - a beautifully renovated 19th-century warehouse in the Ironbridge World Heritage Site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, submit, and negotiate planning applications for a range of rural, retail, leisure and commercial developments.

  • Develop strategic planning approaches tailored to each project's commercial and environmental context.

  • Prepare and manage supporting documentation such as Certificates of Lawfulness, ecological reports, and planning history reviews.

  • Liaise with clients, local planning authorities, and external consultants to support planning success.

  • Collaborate closely with in-house teams including architecture, landscape and ecology to deliver cohesive, high-quality outcomes.

What We're Looking For

  • RTPI-accredited degree and either chartered membership or working towards MRTPI status.

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a consultancy or local authority role.

  • Strong working knowledge of UK planning policy and development processes.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage your own workload while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
