Location: Local to Shrewsbury area
Orion are looking for a proactive and detail-driven Buyer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and remains calm under pressure.
As Buyer you will be working part of a team with responsibility for buying a range of electro-mechanical parts for production, this will include metal work electronics through to electrical items.
Buyer responsibilities:
- Execute daily procurement activities with speed and accuracy to keep production lines running.
- Sources competitive quotes, evaluates supplier options, and raises purchase orders promptly.
- Monitors delivery schedules to prevent downtime and ensures materials meet strict quality and specification standards.
- Quickly resolves issues related to pricing, delivery delays, or product non-conformance to maintain workflow continuity.
- Tracks and expedites deliveries, proactively following up with suppliers to avoid production delays.
- Organizes and manages procurement documentation, including purchase orders and project files, ensuring full traceability.
Buyer Experience:
- 2 years’ experience in procurement or purchasing within an engineering and manufacturing environment
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Experience with MRP/ERP/SAP systems
- Electro-mechanical purchasing experience
- High attention to detail and a collaborative mindset
- Ability to stay composed and effective under pressure
Buyer Shifts: Monday - Friday 8:30 – 17:30
