Supervising Social Worker - Children's Placement Service (Fostering)

We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Supervising Social Worker (SSW) to join our established and supportive Children's Placement Service in Shropshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a thriving team, making a significant contribution to the well-being of children in foster care.

About the Role:Provide high-quality supervision to a caseload of foster carers, ensuring best practice and compliance with Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards (NMS).Conduct thorough annual reviews, recording all key areas of practice and challenging where necessary.Prepare and present fostering reviews to panel as required.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on the LCS system, ensuring all compliance requirements for foster parents are met.Communicate and support foster parents, utilising a trauma-informed approach and incorporating therapeutic principles.Participate in a duty rota, supporting foster carers and undertaking viability assessments (twice per month).Contribute to team meetings and provide support to colleagues.

Requirements:Registered Social Worker with Social Work England.Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience. Experience supervising foster carers is essential.Proven knowledge and experience working in accordance with Fostering Regulations and NMS standards.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Commitment to person-centered practice and fostering positive relationships.
