About the Role:
Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children with additional needs? Aspire People are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Shrewsbury. This is a full-time, long-term role where you'll provide valuable support to children with special educational needs, helping them thrive in a classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons to children with additional needs.
Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils, ensuring their learning is accessible and engaging.
Assist with the development of individual learning plans (ILPs) for students.
Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all pupils.
Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
Promote independence and encourage social and emotional development.
Support pupils during lunchtime and break times as necessary.
Key Requirements:
Experience working with children with additional needs is essential.
A relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or education is desirable, though not required. Experience working in a similar role will be considered.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.
Ability to work well as part of a team.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
