Client Details

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a passionate and proactive Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Officer to join our team on a 23-month fixed-term contract. This is a key role in helping us deliver our commitment to creating a fair, inclusive, and respectful workplace that reflects the communities we serve.

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will lead on the development and implementation of EDI strategies, support staff networks, and ensure compliance with equality legislation. You'll work collaboratively across departments to embed inclusive practices and foster a culture of belonging.

Description

  • Develop and deliver the Service's EDI strategy and action plans
  • Provide expert advice on equality legislation and inclusive practices
  • Support and promote staff networks and employee engagement initiatives
  • Monitor and report on EDI performance and progress
  • Lead on internal and external EDI communications and campaigns
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure inclusive recruitment and development practices

Profile

  • Proven experience in an EDI-focused role
  • Strong knowledge of equality legislation and best practice
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to influence and drive cultural change
