We have an opportunity for a Planning Coordinator to join a construction company in Silsoe, Bedfordshire.

They are a family owned, very successful business, who largely work in the residential sector.

Their trademark is delivering unique, high-end houses in sought after locations.

The role

As a Planning Coordinator, you will play an important part in ensuring that the company is successful in acquiring land and getting the site through planning. Your role will be administrative / coordination, ensuring you get the right information from the right people to stay on track with your scheme.

• You are involved at: Pre-commencement, pre-slab, pre-occupation.
• You will be the middleman, ensuring that you get the correct information/ report from the Planning Consultant to enable you to submit your planning application in timely fashion
• You will review the working drawings, (floor plans & design), with the Engineer and Architect, drawing from their knowledge and experience to ensure you have the best design / spec possible.
• You will continually review the scheme alongside the Planning and Building Consultants, to ensure its running as it should and that plumbing and building regulations are being adhered to
• You will send drawings out to subcontractors for quotes (all work is subcontracted out), pushing prices down with both Subcontractors and Builders Merchants
• Purchasing materials for site alongside the Site Manager

The right person

You will have 5 years plus industry experience

You will have a sound knowledge of Building Regulations, Building and Planning.

You will have residential experience

You will be IT literate, and will be able to use Excel

You will be a good multi-tasker and will work well under pressure.

You will be assertive and confident
