Are you a skilled procurement professional with a passion for delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions in a fast-paced environment? We’re seeking a Project Buyer to manage the end-to-end procurement process for prototype and mass production materials and components. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of cutting-edge engineering projects while driving supplier development and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete procurement cycle, from responding to internal and external demands to vendor evaluation, selection, and performance management.
  • Develop and issue detailed RFQ (Request for Quotation) documentation and ensure accurate purchase orders to mitigate commercial risks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to provide guidance and support informed decision-making.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors, ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and delivery standards.
  • Oversee procurement processes to align with quality, cost, and delivery requirements while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support vendor development activities, driving improvements in quality, cost efficiency, and delivery performance.
  • Proactively address and resolve vendor quality concerns, delivery issues, and invoice queries in a timely manner.

Key Requirements

  • Procurement experience in the automotive or a similarly fast-paced industry.
  • Strong technical and commercial knowledge, with the ability to interpret and act on technical drawings and specifications.
  • Formal qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (HNC/HND or equivalent).
  • Progress towards or completion of MCIPS (Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and time management skills.
  • A proactive and analytical mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Familiarity with low-cost country procurement and understanding of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) principles is preferred.
