Our client, a leading engineering firm based in Kent, are looking for a motivated individual at the early stages of their machining career to join their skilled production team.
As a Junior CNC Machinist you will work under the guidance of experienced machinists and engineers, assisting in manufacturing precision machined components, and gaining hands-on experience in CNC machining within a modern workshop environment.
Main duties will include:
- Setting and operating CNC lathes to produce precision components
- Loading programs and making basic offsets and adjustments
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
- Measuring and inspecting components
- Ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards
- Carrying out basic machine maintenance and housekeeping
As a Junior CNC Machinist, you will need:
- Basic experience or training in CNC machining, with a focus on turning
- Understanding of CNC controls, ideally Fanuc but training will be provided
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Willingness to learn and develop machining skills
- Good attention to detail and a strong work ethic
- Relevant apprenticeship, college qualification, or on-the-job experience
Hours of work are, Monday-Thursday (Apply online only) and Friday (Apply online only). 38 Hours per week
