Technical Officer - Food Safety

We're looking for a Temporary Technical Officer to join our clients dedicated Technical team and help uphold our exceptional food safety and quality standards. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring compliance across our supply chain, supporting audits, and collaborating with multiple departments to deliver safe, high-quality food products.
What You'll Do:
- Maintain and monitor supplier and raw material approval systems
- Assist with supplier audits and manage associated documentation
- Support and participate in internal audits (BRC, GMP, CCP, Hygiene)
- Complete and review product specifications and quality standards
- Conduct horizon scanning and monitor supply chain risks
- Manage traceability schedules and prepare customer documentation
- Support the Technical Manager during audits and customer visits
- Work closely with teams like New Product Development and Purchasing
What We're Looking For:
- A degree (or equivalent) in Food Science or a related field
- 5+ years' experience in food manufacturing or fresh produce processing
- Solid understanding of BRC, HACCP, and relevant food safety legislation
- Strong IT skills, especially Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
- Experience with technical specifications and audit support
You will be working 8.30am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday with an immediate start.
