1:1 Teaching Assistant – Isle of Sheppey

Are you a caring and committed Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEND)? Are you able to travel to the Isle of Sheppey and looking for a long-term opportunity in a supportive school?

Supply Desk are delighted to be working with one of our gorgeous two-form entry primary schools on the Isle of Sheppey, who are seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with SEND. This full-time, long-term role begins ASAP (September 2025) and continues for the remainder of the academic year.

About the Role:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND in a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support
  • Support the child’s social, emotional, and academic development
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
  • Help with personal care and emotional regulation where required
  • Monitor and record progress in line with the pupil’s support plan

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly on a 1:1 basis
  • A warm, empathetic, and patient approach to working with children
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) – desirable but not essential
  • Confidence in managing behaviour and promoting positive relationships
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A valid enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Own transport or reliable means of travel to the Isle of Sheppey
