Academics Rochester are recruiting for a SEN Teacher for a mainstream Primary school in Sittingbourne, Kent.

The school is dedicated to providing a nurturing, inclusive environment where students with diverse learning needs can thrive. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to deliver tailored educational support, focusing on each student's individual strengths and abilities. We are looking for an enthusiastic, SEN Teacher to join our passionate staff and help shape the academic future of our students.

As a SEN Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and accessible lessons that meet the needs of students with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities. You will work closely with the SEN team to develop personalised learning plans, ensuring each student has the opportunity to succeed in mathematics, regardless of their abilities.

The role

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Maths lessons to small groups of students with special educational needs.
  • Adapt teaching methods to cater to the individual learning styles and needs of students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and reports
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to continually improve teaching skills and SEN knowledge.

Key Requirements- SEN Teacher

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Strong understanding of SEN, including autism, learning disabilities, and emotional challenges.
  • Ability to differentiate lessons and provide tailored support to meet individual student needs.
  • Experience with specific teaching strategies, such as TEACCH, Makaton, or other communication systems.
  • SENCO qualification or experience in a SEN leadership role.
