About the role:

We're looking for a skilled and proactive Welder/Fabricator to keep our fleet vehicles and site equipment in top condition. This hands-on role involves diagnostics, repairs, fabrication, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You'll also maintain accurate records and contribute to a clean, well-organised workshop environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and achieving road worthiness of all fleet vehicles and site equipment
  • Maintaining and upkeep of a variety of equipment and machinery
  • Complete all work to a high standard, in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Undertake welding, fabrication and machining work as necessary.
  • Carry out diagnosis and repairs to hydraulics/electrical systems.
  • You will be responsible for your own dynamic risk assessments and adaptable method statements will have to be engaged for the workplace operations.
  • Conduct initial assessment of plant and vehicles and identify root cause and formulate a remedy.
  • Keeping workshop area/site clean and tidy
  • Keeping all paperwork up to date, all jobs or completed work recorded on job cards and signed
  • You will comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures

About you:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in vehicle and plant maintenance
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic skills
  • Welding, fabrication, and machining experience
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently to high standards
  • Competent in completing risk assessments and method statements
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and root cause analysis
  • Good organisational skills with accurate record-keeping
  • Commitment to health, safety, and a tidy work environment
