We’re looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a major infrastructure project in Suffolk, supporting large-scale bulk earthworks and civil engineering operations as part of a nationally significant scheme.
You’ll be joining a respected contractor known for delivering complex earthworks, remediation and enabling works packages across the UK. The business has a strong reputation for doing things properly – safety-led, quality-driven, and focused on long-term project delivery rather than quick wins.

Key Responsibilities:
-
Oversee implementation of the project’s Quality Plan and ensure compliance with client specifications and standards
-
Prepare and review ITPs, check sheets, and quality documentation for bulk earthworks and civils operations
-
Conduct inspections, audits, and testing to verify compliance with design and environmental requirements
-
Liaise with Engineers, Foremen, and the QA/QC team to resolve NCRs and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly
-
Maintain accurate site records, test certificates, and quality documentation in line with project systems
-
Support pre-start, progress, and quality meetings with clients and project teams
-
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and delivery standards across the business
What We’re Looking For:
-
HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
-
Proven background as a Quality Engineer, Section Engineer or similar on large infrastructure or earthworks projects
-
Strong understanding of ITPs, test regimes, compaction control, and quality assurance processes
-
Eye for detail with a proactive, collaborative attitude to site delivery
-
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Package:
-
£65,000 basic salary
-
£5,000 car allowance
-
10% annual bonus
-
£21,630 annual lodge allowance (if applicable)
-
25 days holiday + bank holidays
-
Private healthcare
