Electronics Product Support Engineer

North Yorkshire

Salary: up to 45,000 plus benefits

Jackson Hogg is delighted to be working with amarket-leading engineering manufacturer to bring an Electronics Product Support Engineer to support electronic products through their full lifecycle. This role has a focus oncomponent obsolescence management, design updates, compliance and production support.

This role is ideal for an electronics engineer with experience in electricalschematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, EMC testing and manufacturing support, who enjoys solving time-critical technical issues and keeping products compliant and in production.

Electronic Product Support Engineer Key Responsibilities

  • Manage electronic component obsolescence, identifying and qualifying alternative components

  • Implement design changes to schematics, PCB layouts and BOMs

  • Ensure all design updates maintain product performance, safety and certification

  • Coordinate verification and validation testing, including EMC, optical, environmental and electrical safety testing

  • Review and maintain electrical and electronic schematics and production documentation

  • Provide engineering support to manufacturing, ensuring uninterrupted product production

  • Support products in manufacture and in the field, including occasional site visits

  • Maintain accurate engineering change control and quality records

  • Manage multiple technical issues concurrently in a fast-paced production environment

Electronic Product Support Engineer Key Requirements:

  • BEng in Electronics Engineering, or HNC/HND with relevant industry experience
  • Proven experience in a product-focused electronics engineering role

  • Strong understanding of electronic communications, including:

    • RS485, RS232

    • SPI, I3C

    • Ethernet, CAN bus, WiFi

  • Experience working with schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs and ECNs

  • Hands-on experience using electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analysers, frequency counters)

  • Understanding of EMC, electrical safety and environmental compliance

  • Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D mechanical drawings

  • Confident communicator, comfortable working with manufacturing, suppliers, contractors and customers

  • Experience supporting products already in production or fielded
