This is a key leadership role, where you’ll oversee a diverse portfolio of private clients, manage a team, and contribute to business development while ensuring clients receive expert tax advice and compliance services.

Role responsibilities

  • Lead the private tax service line, supporting directors and ensuring team members deliver high-quality work
  • Provide technical expertise and strategic tax planning for a wide range of private clients, including individuals, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals
  • Act as the main point of contact for client queries, ensuring regular communication and updates
  • Identify complex tax challenges and provide tailored solutions
  • Support and develop team members, conducting performance reviews and one-to-one coaching
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide a seamless service across the firm
  • Work closely with senior management to drive business development and expand the firm’s tax service offering
  • Ensure tax compliance, including inheritance tax, capital gains, allowances, trusts, and income tax matters

Candidate Requirements
  • ACA, ACCA, CTA, or ATT qualified with a minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience
  • Strong knowledge of UK private tax compliance and advisory
  • Experience managing a client portfolio and delivering tax planning solutions
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team, helping them to develop and progress
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively
  • A proactive, client-focused approach, ensuring the highest level of service
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and other tax/accounting software
  • A commercial mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities for business development
