Location: West LancashireSalary: £50,000 - £65,000 + benefitsType: Permanent | Full-time | On-site

We are supporting a fast-growing, forward-thinking engineering business based in a newly built, state-of-the-art facility in West Lancashire. This company develops and manufactures specialist systems used for high-temperature waste treatment and thermal processing applications across international markets.

As part of their ongoing growth, they are looking for a Process Engineer / Technologist to join their technical team. This is a pivotal role working at the interface of commercial and engineering teams to ensure the thermal systems specified are not only technically sound and compliant, but also commercially viable and buildable.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and specifying the process side of thermal treatment equipment - including sizing of chambers, combustion requirements, and emissions considerations - while taking into account chemical reaction behaviour, material characteristics, and international compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop thermal process specifications and define parameters including temperature ranges, residence time, flow characteristics, and emissions

  • Calculate equipment sizing and layout requirements based on waste input types and performance expectations

  • Work cross-functionally with sales, engineering, and project teams to ensure designs meet customer needs and can be manufactured efficiently

  • Ensure compliance with local and global environmental and safety regulations

  • Support the creation of technical documentation for proposals and project delivery

  • Contribute to continuous improvement in thermal process design and performance

Ideal Background:
  • Degree in Process, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or similar

  • Strong background in process engineering, particularly involving combustion, thermal systems or heat-transfer applications

  • Comfortable applying engineering principles to complex chemical and thermal problems

  • Awareness of environmental compliance, emissions control and regulatory frameworks

  • Experience working cross-functionally with commercial and technical stakeholders

  • Strong technical documentation and modelling skills

What's on Offer:
  • Salary up to £55,000 depending on experience

  • Opportunity to be part of a growing company investing in long-term innovation

  • A modern, collaborative working environment with plenty of new projects

  • 4-day working week with flexible start and finish times

  • Real progression opportunities and a clear path toward senior roles

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a business at the forefront of developing responsible, globally deployed high-temperature treatment systems - where engineering innovation meets environmental impact.
