Multi skilled Maintenance Engineer
Location: Skelmersdale
Rate: £33-£35 per hour (Outside IR35)
Shifts: Monday to Friday – Rotating: 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm
Contract Length: 1 Month Rolling

ATA Recruitment is working with a global leader in warehouse automation to recruit a skilled Maintenance Engineer on a short-term basis for a site based in Skelmersdale. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a highly automated, well-maintained facility supporting cutting-edge equipment such as 35m-high cranes and over 200 metres of conveyors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on conveyor and crane systems
  • Diagnose and repair faults on electrical components including inverters, switches, relays, drives, sensors
  • Work independently on shift, with technical support available from the wider team and online PLC/software experts
  • Maintain mechanical systems such as shafts, pulleys, bearings, chains, belts, rollers, and sprockets
  • Ensure safe operations at height and compliance with site safety protocols

What We're Looking For

  • NVQ Level 3 or time-served apprenticeship in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (advantageous)
  • Strong experience with automated systems, especially conveyors and cranes
  • Comfortable working solo and confident in high-level, fast-paced environments
  • Working at height qualifications are advantageous
