We are working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Skelmersdale that is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team. This is a rewarding role where you will provide vital support to pupils, ensuring they are able to access learning and reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the SEN team to deliver individualised support, both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis, helping to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs.

  • Assist in planning and delivering engaging learning activities.

  • Support children with SEND and help them build confidence, independence, and social skills.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to meet pupils' needs.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, supportive learning environment.

  • Communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and staff to support progress and well-being.



Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting children in an educational setting (desirable).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning) - desirable but not essential.
