�? Finance Assistant - All-Round Transactional Role with Month-End Exposure �?

Are you an organised and proactive Finance Assistant looking to grow your career in a varied and supportive environment?

We’re looking for a Finance Assistant to join our dynamic and growing team based in Skipton, supporting key day-to-day finance operations and gaining exposure to month end transactional processing and reporting responsibilities.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a mix of sales and purchase ledger, supplier engagement, and hands-on transactional reporting, with added responsibilities within an autonomous and busy accounts department.

?? Key Responsibilities as a Finance Assistant:

  • Maintain and process sales ledger and purchase ledger transactions accurately and on time
  • Set up new supplier accounts and process all the transactional reporting and subsequent payment schedules, resolving queries efficiently
  • Complete bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow activity
  • Manage company credit cards, ensuring accurate transaction coding, receipts, and monthly reconciliation
  • Manage the credit control and provide weekly debtors report
  • Prepare payroll process and all timesheet entries ready for external submission
  • Monitor the accuracy of the order book, ensuring all monthly requirements are met for reporting purposes
  • Support transactional reporting including journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing tasks, including reconciliations and audit prep
  • Prepare all monthly and yearly VAT/Intrastat returns as required.
  • Maintain financial records in compliance with internal controls and policies

? What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience of over 3 years within a fast-paced finance/account’s assistant role
  • Good working knowledge of ledgers, reconciliations, and credit card management
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in transactional processing
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable using Excel and finance systems such as Sage 50
