Day-to-day of the role:
  • Engage with a variety of children and young people, some of whom may require high levels of supervision and support.
  • Create positive relationships with children, meeting their needs and safeguarding them at all times.
  • Teach life skills to help children build self-esteem and accept themselves, aiding their journey into adulthood.
  • Lead shifts and supervise staff, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
  • Manage rotas and ensure that placement plans are followed and education is supported.
  • Provide guidance and support to all residential workers and ensure the welfare and care of each child.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must be 22 years of age or above (to meet Ofsted regulations).
  • NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Children's and Young People Workforce.
  • At least 2 years of experience within residential childcare and working alongside young people.
  • Valid manual driving license.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
