Senior AccountantWe are recruiting foe a Senior Accountant to start asap as a temp and then going perm. This is an exciting opportunity The Senior Accountant is fully responsible for all financial statement reporting and analysis for one of our many divisions.. This is a key position not only in the accounting department but in the operation of the company as well. The Senior Accountant will analyse financial data to identify issues and inconsistencies, perform month-end closings timely and accurately, maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, propose process improvement initiatives, and present financial reports to department managers, shareholders and other external stakeholders. Senior Accountant position reports directly to the Finance Director. PRIMARY DUTIES for Senior Accountant:* Prepare internal and external financial statements on a monthly and annual basis * Manage revenue recognition and project costing * Develop spreadsheet models to analyse data * Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files and reconciling accounts * Implement accounting procedures by analysing current systems and recommending changes * Coordinate with other branch accounting departments * Manage financial audits by preparing various financial documents * Support the operations function with accounting expertise * Perform special projects and other duties as assigned COMPETENCY for for Senior Accountant: * Provide accounting support for mergers and acquisitions by reviewing financial information; converting data to general ledger system; * Strong knowledge of Excel spreadsheets * Experience with Netsuite & Sage * Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills * Payroll, Banking and VAT Return Experience * Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines * Ability to work independently and/or as a team member EXPERIENCE:* 3-5 years senior level accounting * Minimum 5 years advanced Excel QUALIFICATIONS: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
