Scope

We are looking for a Stores & Logistics Technician to support scientific operations through efficient logistics, inventory, and materials management. This hands-on role involves handling deliveries, maintaining stock levels, managing hazardous and sensitive materials, and ensuring a safe, well-organised storage environment. You will play a vital part in keeping daily operations running smoothly and supporting research teams behind the scenes.

This role is ideal for someone reliable, flexible, and safety-conscious, who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and teamwork make a real difference.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive, store, and distribute deliveries in line with temperature, safety, and storage guidelines.
  • Monitor stock levels, place replenishment orders, and support inventory counts.
  • Provide reliable, customer-focused service at the internal supply counter.
  • Safely manage hazardous waste, gas cylinders, and liquid nitrogen vessels.
  • Assist with sample shipments, ensuring all safety and compliance requirements are met.
  • Keep storage areas clean, safe, and compliant with regulations.
  • Transport and replace laboratory products across site as required.
  • Complete administrative tasks accurately, including inventory tracking, audits, and reporting.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and support the wider team with ad-hoc logistics needs.

About You:

  • Experience in logistics, inventory, or administrative work (service sector or summer roles also considered).
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP or similar stock management systems is a plus.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach with a focus on excellent customer service.
  • Desirable: certifications such as FLT, ADR, or Gas Safe.
