Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team within a major manufacturing facility located in Slough. This role involves performing both planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems, equipment repairs, and coordination with subcontractors to ensure the continued operation and reliability of site facilities.
Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a wide range of mechanical systems.
  • Perform mechanical repairs on-site and within the maintenance workshop.
  • Support and supervise subcontractors working on-site to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Respond rapidly and effectively to mechanical breakdowns, minimizing downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
  • Uphold health and safety standards and company procedures at all times.
  • Provide professional and courteous service to internal stakeholders and clients.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong mechanical fitting and fault-finding skills.
  • Experience with air and water services equipment, including:
  • Air Handling Units (AHUs)
  • Fan Coil Units (FCUs)
  • Calorifiers
  • Pressure systems, including steam systems
  • Fans, pumps, and general plumbing systems
  • Time management and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Flexible, reliable, and capable of working independently or within a team.
  • Demonstrates professionalism in client-facing situations.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, especially under pressure. Qualifications
    • Ideally, apprentice-trained in a mechanical discipline, supported with relevant industry certifications.
    • Consideration will also be given to candidates with significant hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance roles.
    Additional Requirements
    • Full UK Driving Licence.
    • Ability to work occasional paid overtime as required.
    • Commitment to punctuality and consistent attendance.
