We are seeking a dedicated Premises Manager to join our team on a temporary to permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and supervision of school buildings, equipment, and external environment, ensuring a safe and well-maintained facility.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Coordinate and implement routine inspections and repairs of the school buildings, equipment, and external environment, including annual, monthly, weekly, and daily inspections.
  • Advise on a rolling programme of redecoration/refurbishment.
  • Investigate reported site issues, provide possible solutions, and initiate repair/maintenance, liaising with the Principal/Estates Manager when necessary.
  • Order and supervise repairs, acting as project manager for small maintenance contracts and improvement schemes, ensuring value for money.
  • Assist the Estates Manager/Principal in preparing documentation for tenders or specifications of small to medium projects.
  • Inspect the internal and external fabric of the school, including equipment, and report and/or repair defects as appropriate.
  • Manage and monitor any facility or building contractors undertaking work on the school’s premises, ensuring prompt resolution of any issues.
  • Attend Academy Council meetings, reporting on buildings, maintenance, and health and safety issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in facilities management or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of building systems and maintenance requirements.
  • Strong project management skills for overseeing maintenance contracts and improvement schemes.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound judgments.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations.

The post is for 36 hours per week, there is flexibility on how the hours are spread across the day with the working day potentially starting at 06.45am and ending at 6.30pm. This means you will be on a rota of early and late shifts.
