Role:                       Domestic Abuse Outreach Practitioner
Location:                Slough (Hybrid – 3 days in office/community, 2 from home)
Hours:                    37 hours per week
Hourly Rate:           £14 – £18 per hour (depending on pay status)
Start Date:              Within 2 weeks’ notice
Duration:                 3-month temporary contract (with strong possibility of extension)
Essential:                Previous experience working with victims of domestic abuse

Our client is a well-established organisation providing specialist support services to individuals experiencing domestic abuse. They are seeking a dedicated Domestic Abuse Outreach Practitioner to join their team and deliver high-quality support to standard to medium risk victims in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to victims of domestic abuse in the community and in their own homes.
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 25 clients, addressing practical and emotional needs including housing, substance misuse, mental health, and those with No Recourse to Public Funds.
  • Conduct risk and needs assessments (including CAADA DASH RIC) and develop tailored safety and support plans.
  • Work collaboratively with key partner agencies including Police, Probation, and Social Services.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients to secure housing and access to services.
  • Signpost and support clients to engage with additional support networks.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience supporting victims of domestic abuse within DA services or related fields such as social services or supported housing.
  • Strong experience in key working and case management.
  • Skilled in developing support plans and conducting risk and needs assessments, with a sound understanding of safeguarding.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexible and proactive approach to working within a hybrid model.
  • DBS issued within the last 12 months or registered on the update service.
  • Full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle.
