Electrical Project Manager - Data Centres

About the Company:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and highly respected Mechanical and Electrical Building Services contractor, known for delivering high-quality M&E solutions across a wide range of sectors. Operating for decades with a solid reputation, they specialise in commercial, office fit-out, banking, education, healthcare, retail, leisure, and increasingly, data centres.

Project values typically range from £200k to £5m, and due to consistent growth and a strong project pipeline, they are now seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join their expanding Data Centre division, based in Slough.

Previous data centre experience is advantageous but not essential.

The Role:

As the Electrical Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of complex electrical packages on high-value data centre projects. Youll manage the project lifecycle from planning and procurement through to installation and commissioning, ensuring smooth delivery to time, cost, and quality targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage electrical projects from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with design, budget, and programme
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain strong communication and collaboration
  • Develop detailed project plans, resource schedules, and budget forecasts
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and uphold health & safety standards
  • Oversee procurement and timely delivery of materials and equipment
  • Troubleshoot project issues, provide solutions, and report progress to senior management
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure quality control procedures are followed

Electrical Project Manager - Desirable experience and skills:

  • Experienced Electrical Project Manager, or similar (e.g. Electrical Contracts Manager, M&E Project Manager)
  • Experience in data centres is beneficial, but not essential
  • Strong leadership, commercial, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of relevant electrical regulations and safety protocols
  • CSCS / SMSTS certification preferred
  • Relevant Electrical qualifications (apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC/HND, or equivalent)
