Slough Borough Council is seeking a pragmatic and adaptable qualified accountant to join our Corporate Resources team as a Strategic Finance Manager - Capital Accountant. This role is being offered to support additional and project-based work within our finance function.
Key Responsibilities:-
Lead or contribute to critical areas of local government corporate finance

Support year-end processes and the production of the Statement of Accounts

Contribute to Medium-Term Financial Strategy (MTFS) and financial planning
-
Manage, report on, and reconcile data within an ERP system
-
Work collaboratively across departments to provide strategic financial insight
-
Assist in leadership and mentoring within the finance team
-
A qualified accountant (e.g. CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA, or ACA)

Proven experience in local government corporate finance

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Experience in at least one of the following areas:

Year-end and Statement of Accounts
-
MTFS and financial planning
-
ERP system management, reporting & reconciliation
