Quantum Scholars is working alongside a well-established and ambitious secondary school in Slough, which is seeking a talented and dynamic Head of Department for Economics and Business. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced educator to take on a leadership role in a forward-thinking school. This will be a full-time, permanent position starting in September 2025!

Key Responsibilities:-
Lead and manage the Economics and Business department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages (Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5).

Develop and implement a departmental vision and strategy that aligns with the school's overall goals and educational priorities.

Plan and deliver inspiring and challenging lessons that engage students and encourage critical thinking.

Monitor student progress, ensuring interventions and support are provided to help all students achieve their full potential.

Manage departmental budgets and resources effectively to ensure the best outcomes for students.

Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, supporting the professional development of your colleagues.

Ensure that the department maintains up-to-date, relevant curriculum content that prepares students for exams and beyond.

Take a lead role in promoting the department's extracurricular activities, including business clubs, enterprise initiatives, and student-led projects.

Collaborate with the senior leadership team to ensure a cohesive and aligned approach to school-wide objectives.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

A degree in Economics, Business, or a closely related subject.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Proven experience in teaching Economics and Business at both GCSE and A-Level.

A record of successful teaching, demonstrating the ability to raise student achievement.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students.

Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
