Quantum Scholars is working alongside a well-established and ambitious secondary school in Slough, which is seeking a talented and dynamic Head of Department for Economics and Business. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the Economics and Business department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages (Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5).

  • Develop and implement a departmental vision and strategy that aligns with the school's overall goals and educational priorities.

  • Plan and deliver inspiring and challenging lessons that engage students and encourage critical thinking.

  • Monitor student progress, ensuring interventions and support are provided to help all students achieve their full potential.

  • Manage departmental budgets and resources effectively to ensure the best outcomes for students.

  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, supporting the professional development of your colleagues.

  • Ensure that the department maintains up-to-date, relevant curriculum content that prepares students for exams and beyond.

  • Take a lead role in promoting the department's extracurricular activities, including business clubs, enterprise initiatives, and student-led projects.

  • Collaborate with the senior leadership team to ensure a cohesive and aligned approach to school-wide objectives.

Key Requirements:
  • Essential Qualifications and Experience:

    • A degree in Economics, Business, or a closely related subject.

    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

    • Proven experience in teaching Economics and Business at both GCSE and A-Level.

    • A record of successful teaching, demonstrating the ability to raise student achievement.

    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students.

    • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
