Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with complex needs? A nurturing specialist school in Langley is seeking a PMLD/SEND Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team immediately.

This role is ideal for someone who is patient, empathetic, and committed to providing holistic support for pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with PMLD and complex medical needs in classroom and therapeutic settings
  • Assist with personal care, feeding, and mobility in a safe and dignified manner
  • Use sensory-based strategies and communication tools (PECS, Makaton, AAC) to engage learners
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to implement individual learning plans
  • Promote independence, confidence, and wellbeing through tailored support

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with SEND learners, particularly PMLD (school or care setting)
  • Empathetic, resilient, and adaptable approach
  • Confidence in using or willingness to learn specialist communication tools
  • Commitment to safeguarding and dignity in care
  • Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced Child and Adult DBS
