We are looking for compassionate, resilient, and proactive Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team at [School Name], a specialist setting for children and young people aged 5-16 with a range of needs including:
- BESD (Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties)
- EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plans)
- SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health)
- Neurodiversity (Autism, ADHD, OCD, etc.)
- PRU experience (Pupil Referral Unit)
- Mental Health challenges (Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, etc.)
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping our pupils succeed - both academically and personally - by providing individualised support and building positive, trusting relationships.
About the Role:
- Work closely with teachers to support pupils' learning, behaviour, and emotional needs.
- Deliver tailored interventions and adapt activities to suit different learning styles and abilities.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils to engage and progress.
- Help create a calm, therapeutic, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support the delivery of EHCP targets and contribute to progress reviews.
- Act as a key adult for pupils, offering encouragement, structure, and emotional support.
We are looking for Teaching Assistants who:
- Have experience working with children or young people with additional needs (school, youth work, care, sports coaching, mentoring, etc.).
- Are nurturing, patient, and able to build strong relationships based on trust and respect.
- Are resilient and calm under pressure, using positive behaviour support strategies.
- Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Have excellent teamwork and communication skills.
