About the Role:

Slough Borough Council is seeking an experienced Recruitment Manager to join our Corporate Resources team on a 3-month assignment during a period of organisational restructuring.

In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for overseeing all recruitment activities across the council - from permanent and temporary recruitment to entry-to-work programs. You will also manage supplier and partner relationships, ensuring compliance with standards and enhancing recruitment efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end recruitment process across all council departments.

  • Support both permanent and temporary resourcing needs, including early careers programs.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, commercial partners, and recruitment agencies.

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and key stakeholders to meet workforce planning needs.

  • Ensure recruitment practices comply with relevant employment laws, policies, and equality standards.

  • Provide strategic input to help strengthen the council's overall resourcing capacity.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in recruitment management, ideally in the public sector or a large, complex organisation.

  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation, best practices, and recruitment compliance.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and vendor management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and deliver results within tight timelines.

  • Experience managing recruitment during periods of change or restructuring is desirable.
