We are looking for a Technical Specialist Team Manager to join us permanently. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Office Technical Specialist (OTS) team to deliver their individual, team and Company targets.This role also has a continuous Improvement aspect and is responsible for driving front end flooding data accuracy alongside process and performance improvement.
  • Location: Slough
  • 36 Hours Per Week (Monday-Friday)
What you’ll be doing as a Technical Specialist Team Manager
  • Ensuring that the OTS team are compliant with current methodologies and up to speed with any changes to reporting for datasets relevant to each team.
  • You will be driving the overall performance of the OTS and team, reviewing, updating and managing the specific actions to allow the targets to be met.
  • You will be working closely with the other OTS team Manager to ensure that both Flooding and Technical tasks are completed as per the relevant methodology and guidance. Providing guidance and support to field teams, ensuring that the correct solutions are identified to drive first-time fix and reduce the risk of repeat incidents.
  • Working with stakeholders, identifying areas that require review and driving continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and report against escape of sewage data quality obtained via the front-end data capture process, ensuring we comply with regulatory, Thames Water and regional team requirements.
  • Create and maintain a quality management framework that can be used to report against the team's performance; identify trends in good and poor performance and data capture, to share best practices and develop solutions to address poor performance.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports to the Performance Manager, Maintenance and Data Quality, and other senior Managers as required.
What you should bring to the role
  • You will have good people management, sophisticated communication and strong leadership skills.
  • Demonstrates a proven track record of continuous improvement.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship-building skills
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, reasoning and negotiating skills
  • Good data analysis skills with high levels of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Previous experience with wastewater systems is desirable.
