An industry-leading global company is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead operations at a cutting-edge automated distribution facility near Heathrow.
With a global footprint of 58 European sites, over 325,000 employees, and an annual turnover of €58 billion, this organisation is a key player in both parcel delivery and complex distribution solutions-competing with names like FedEx, UPS, Dematic, and Vanderlande. This site, opened just 9 months ago, serves as a critical hub for European inbound and outbound deliveries and supports major contracts including national retailers and FMCG giants.
Key Responsibilities of the Maintenance Manager:
- Lead, develop, and motivate the engineering team to achieve operational excellence.
- Ensure the reliability and efficiency of production equipment through proactive maintenance strategies.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and implement best practices.
- Manage engineering projects, budgets, and health & safety compliance.
- Collaborate with production teams to optimise processes and minimise downtime.
Skills Required for the Maintenance Manager:
- Proven leadership experience as an Engineering Manager, Team Leader, or Supervisor.
- Strong multi-skilled engineering background (electrical & mechanical).
- Relevant engineering qualifications.
- Experience in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- A proactive and hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
