Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble vehicle engines, gearboxes, suspension systems, and electrical components
  • Support the integration of automotive parts into bespoke amphibious platforms
  • Collaborate with marine and automotive engineers to refine build procedures
  • Ensure welding and mechanical joins meet safety standards for both land and water use
  • Inspect parts, identifying and reporting any defects or quality issues
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of workshop build processes
  • Assist with prototype testing and vehicle trials (occasional travel and overtime required)
  • Accurately log build data including torque settings, serial numbers, and part tracking
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant workshop environment

What You’ll Need

  • Proven hands-on experience as a mechanic or vehicle technician
  • Strong knowledge of engines, transmissions, and braking systems
  • Relevant technical certification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, IMI)
  • High mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Welding, fabrication, or machining skills (advantageous but not essential)
  • Ability to read engineering drawings (preferred)
  • Experience in low-volume or prototype vehicle production (preferred)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Full UK driver’s licence
