We are working on a role for a Planner to join a Tier 1 business based near Slough.
They are an established and well respected business with turnover secured for the next few years they are in the ideal position to be selective about both schemes and clients to focus on. All their work is negotiated directly with the client or minimum 2 stage bid from framework opportunities - they don't take risks and don't buy work for turnover or vanity. They have returned healthy profits for the last 5 years, have cash in the bank and have a trusted supply chain who work with them to deliver on time, on budget schemes they are proud of.
Projects range across education, leisure, health-care, student accommodation, local authority and urban regen schemes and values range from 15 to 95 million across the Berkshire, Oxfordshire and M4 regions.
The role is to work initially within the work winning team and you will be first point of contact after pqq - you will be required to help assess the scheme, help and advise to compile packages and a brief scope of works and form part of the team to provide an initial cost plan for the individual packages and then pull them all together to form the basis of the bid. You will also be required to be involved with the in depth analysis, estimating, design and programming of 2nd stage schemes working with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to firm up exact costs, programmes and specifications to take the scheme out onto site for delivery.
You will be supported every step of the way and form a bid team normally comprising of an estimator, bid manager, bid writer, planner, commercial support and operational input usually from the project manager who will eventually deliver the scheme - this has proved effective in both winning and then delivering high quality projects each and every time.
Once on site you will be expected to work with the delivery teams and subcontractors to monitor, asses and develop the short. medium and long term planning aspects of the site programme. You will be expected to attend progress meetings with the clients
The role would ideally suit an experienced Planner from a main contractor who is used to working on large complex bids at both preconstruction and on the delivery phases.
They offer competitive salary packages and agile/hybrid working is also available and this really is a special opportunity to define your own role within a successful business.
