Mental Health Teaching Assistant - Slough

This amazing specialist school in Slough are looking for a Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join their team for the new academic year in September 2025!

This is an important role where you will be responsible for facilitating and providing tailored emotional and mental health support to students, helping them navigate their feelings, build resilience and develop coping strategies. As a mental health teaching assistant you will work closely with teachers, parents and external professionals to create a supportive and safe environment for our students.

The students in this setting have all been identified as struggling with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). They are between the ages of 4 and 11 and have been exposed to adverse childhood experiences. These experience have led them to have mental health struggles, which contributes to nervous system dysregulation. This lovely school are looking for people to come in and support their students in processing their thoughts and feelings and regulating their emotions.

Your role will be fostering positive relationships with students, promoting trust and emotional safety and collaborate with parents and caregivers to offer guidance and support.

This mental health school are based in Headington and offer their students the best help they can, but they are looking to add someone to their team who can facilitate a high level of care and compassion for their students.
