We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Temporary Accommodation Officer to join our Housing Solutions team. This role is key to supporting households placed in temporary accommodation, ensuring properties are safe, well-managed, and that residents receive the advice and assistance they need while awaiting permanent housing solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of households living in temporary accommodation, providing advice and guidance on housing options and tenancy sustainment
  • Carry out regular property inspections to ensure standards, health and safety, and contractual obligations are met
  • Act as the main point of contact for households, landlords, and accommodation providers, resolving issues promptly and professionally
  • Monitor occupancy, voids, and usage of temporary accommodation to ensure efficient use of resources
  • Work closely with colleagues across Housing Solutions, Repairs, and external partners to support households into settled housing
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports in line with policies, procedures, and data protection requirements
About You
  • Experience working in housing management, homelessness, or temporary accommodation services
  • Knowledge of housing legislation, homelessness duties, and safeguarding responsibilities
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with vulnerable households and partner agencies
  • Good organisational skills, able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • IT proficient with experience of using housing management systems or similar databases
  • A team player with a customer-focused approach and commitment to achieving positive outcomes for residents
