This role involves delivering engaging and effective Media lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering creativity and critical thinking skills in a supportive educational environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Media lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and resources.
  • Participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements.
  • Support the school's ethos and policies, promoting a culture of respect and excellence.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Media Studies or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Media at the secondary school level.
  • Strong knowledge of the Media curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their best.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with extracurricular activities related to Media, such as film clubs or media projects.
  • Familiarity with the use of technology and modern tools in the classroom to enhance learning.
