Are you passionate about making a difference in local communities? We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Neighbourhood Officer to join a dedicated Housing team within a Local Authority in Slough on a short-term contract.

About the Role:

As a key member of the Neighbourhood Housing team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, customer-focused housing management services to residents across a defined geographical patch. This is a hands-on, frontline role focused on estate management, tenancy support, and community engagement.

You will be responsible for:

  • Conducting new tenant visits and tenancy sign-ups

  • Preventing tenancy fraud and verifying tenancies

  • Responding to reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB)

  • Requesting and monitoring responsive maintenance

  • Driving improvements across estates and communal areas

  • Liaising with residents to ensure service delivery meets expectations

  • Administering recharges and supporting rent recovery efforts

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a comprehensive housing management service including ASB response, estate inspections, and tenancy enforcement.

  • Develop and deliver neighbourhood improvement plans in collaboration with residents.

  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and equalities legislation.

  • Identify and implement service improvements.

  • Support and promote customer involvement and influence strategies.

  • Maintain budget oversight for estate-related expenditures.

  • Participate in emergency housing cover and out-of-hours services as required.

About You:

You should have:

  • Experience in frontline housing management, ideally in a local authority or housing association setting

  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills

  • A good understanding of tenancy law, housing standards, and anti-social behaviour legislation

  • Ability to work independently while managing a demanding and diverse caseload

  • Confidence in engaging with residents, stakeholders, and contractors

Additional Information:
  • This is a temporary, full-time position for a minimum of 1 month, with the potential to extend.

  • No direct line management responsibilities

  • You will be supported by the Neighbourhood Lead and part of a collaborative and resident-focused team.
