About the Role:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons across the Design and Technology curriculum, including Product Design, Resistant Materials, and Graphics
  • Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and inspiring workshop environment that nurtures creativity, problem-solving, and technical proficiency
  • Apply a variety of assessment methods to track student progress and guide future teaching
  • Play an active role in shaping the DT curriculum and contribute to cross-curricular initiatives
  • Provide support for students completing GCSE coursework and encourage participation in extra-curricular DT clubs and activities

The ideal candidate will:

  • Ideally have experience teaching Design and Technology at secondary level (though this is not essential)
  • Be a passionate and knowledgeable subject specialist, with a solid understanding of health and safety, CAD/CAM, and contemporary manufacturing methods
  • Show strong skills in classroom management, organisation, and effective communication
  • Be dedicated to inclusive teaching practices, promoting student wellbeing, and upholding safeguarding standards
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and working collaboratively within a team
