Our client, a leading manufacturer in the cold roll-formed steel industry, is seeking a skilled Toolmaker to join their engineering team in Smethwick, Birmingham.
The Toolmaker will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and refurbishing precision tooling, as well as manufacturing components to support high-performance production.
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a toolmaking position and must be able to read engineering drawings and interpret technical schematics.
The role offers a competitive hourly rate and shift allowance, along with company benefits, and requires proficiency in using precision measuring equipment.
This permanent, full-time position involves working Monday to Thursday from 2pm to 11pm and Friday from 2pm to 5:30pm.

Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical schematics to ensure precise manufacturing and toolmaking accuracy.
Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, verniers, gauges) to inspect components within tight tolerances.
Hands-on experience with manual and CNC machining equipment, including maintenance, repair, and tooling changeovers in a high-standards production environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, including 5S, TPM, and continuous improvement methodologies in a machine shop or engineering setting.
