Our client is a small but stable business based near Soham Cambridgeshire. They specialise in the design and assembly of scientific machinery for a variety of R&D Environments. With a low turnover of staff, the company are now looking to bring on a mechanical engineer due to an upcoming retirement. Full training will be provided.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Produce 2D Drawings using DesignCAD
- Design vacuum-based instrumentation
- Utilize 3D for assembly reviews
- Design for Polymers, Alloys, Bronxe and Stainless Steel
- Work as the sole mechanical engineer after a hand-over period
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering
- Knowledge and experience of 2D and 3D Design
- Able to problem solve and take on new challenges
- Experience with Ultra high vacuum systems would be an advantage
- Experience of High-Voltage Ion-optics woulld be an advantage
