This position is a temporary-to-permanent role, starting with a 3-month temp period acting as a mini probation. You'll get involved in a wide range of finance duties - everything from processing invoices and handling supplier queries to inbox management and reconciliations. It's a varied role in a stable and welcoming team, perfect for someone eager to soak up knowledge and gain confidence in all things finance. The business are looking to move quickly, so ideally you'll be available immediately or on a one-week notice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing purchase invoices and ensuring accurate data entry into the system
  • Reconciling supplier statements and investigating any discrepancies
  • Monitoring and responding to emails in the shared finance inbox
  • Answering incoming phone calls and helping resolve finance-related queries
  • Liaising with suppliers to chase missing invoices or clarify payment issues
  • Supporting with weekly payment runs and preparing remittance advice
  • Assisting with month-end reconciliation tasks and general ledger updates
  • Providing ad hoc administrative support to the wider finance team

Candidate Attributes and Skills:

  • Some existing finance experience (even 2-3 months is enough!)
  • A genuine interest in developing a career in finance (study support not essential, but a bonus if started)
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and comfortable with computers
  • Organised, detail-focused, and keen to learn
  • A strong communicator - comfortable talking to colleagues and suppliers alike
  • Immediately available or on a short notice period (1 week max)
