We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Planning Ecologist to work in the Solihull area. This is a full time role until November 2025. Hybrid working, with site visits as required. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team within development services.

Role Purpose

To be operationally responsible for the effective co-ordination and delivery of the development, organisation and implementation of a wide range of ecology projects, within agreed time scales, budget parameters and quality objectives.

To liaise with various Statutory bodies, non-government organisations and other relevant bodies over positive initiatives to enhance and protect nature conservation sites and landscapes

To provide specialist, technical and professional advice on ecological issues, carrying out related surveys and writing reports and support the work of others across the organisation.

You will need:

  • Mandated biodiversity net gain experience
  • Experience of appraising developments
  • Experience in assessing site in terms of legally protected species
  • Planning experience

Qualifications:

  • Associate or member of CIE
  • Degree or qualification in Ecology
  • Knowledge of protected species license would be advantageous

Systems: Microsoft Suite, GIS
