Credit ControllerSalary: £27,000 – £31,000 per annumLocation: Solihull (office-based, 5 days a week)Type: PermanentWe’re working with a well-established business in Solihull who are looking to recruit a confident, experienced Credit Controller to take full ownership of the credit function. This is a standalone role, so you’ll need to be proactive, organised, and comfortable working independently to drive results.Key Responsibilities:
  • Full ownership of the credit control function, managing the end-to-end collections process
  • Proactively chasing outstanding debt by phone and email to reduce aged debt and improve cash flow
  • Building strong relationships with customers to ensure timely payments and resolve disputes
  • Allocating payments and reconciling customer accounts
  • Preparing and issuing accurate statements, reminder letters, and copy invoices
  • Monitoring customer credit limits and assessing risk where necessary
  • Liaising with internal teams such as sales and accounts to resolve queries efficiently
  • Producing aged debt reports and providing regular updates to management
About You:
  • Proven experience in standalone Credit Control roles within the UK
  • Confident managing high-volume ledgers and complex aged debt
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain long-term relationships
  • Comfortable making outbound collection calls and working to targets/deadlines
  • Knowledge of UK credit control processes, legal collections procedures, and credit risk assessment
  • A team player with a hands-on, solution-focused approach
  • Must be happy working full-time on site in Solihull
  • You’ll be joining a supportive team, but you must be confident managing credit control independently
