- Full ownership of the credit control function, managing the end-to-end collections process
- Proactively chasing outstanding debt by phone and email to reduce aged debt and improve cash flow
- Building strong relationships with customers to ensure timely payments and resolve disputes
- Allocating payments and reconciling customer accounts
- Preparing and issuing accurate statements, reminder letters, and copy invoices
- Monitoring customer credit limits and assessing risk where necessary
- Liaising with internal teams such as sales and accounts to resolve queries efficiently
- Producing aged debt reports and providing regular updates to management
- Proven experience in standalone Credit Control roles within the UK
- Confident managing high-volume ledgers and complex aged debt
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain long-term relationships
- Comfortable making outbound collection calls and working to targets/deadlines
- Knowledge of UK credit control processes, legal collections procedures, and credit risk assessment
- A team player with a hands-on, solution-focused approach
- Must be happy working full-time on site in Solihull
- You’ll be joining a supportive team, but you must be confident managing credit control independently
