My client is looking for an experienced and motivated Service Team Leader to take charge of our service operations and lead a skilled team of engineers and service staff.

The Role

As Service Team Leader, you willbe responsible for coordinating and supervising theworkshop and field service teams to ensure all hire equipment is maintained, serviced, and ready for hire. You will manage daily workloads, prioritise jobs, and ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines operational oversight with technical understanding and strong people management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and support a team of service engineers and workshop staff.
  • Plan and allocate daily work schedules to meet service and hire deadlines.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Monitor service performance, quality, and turnaround times.
  • Liaise with customers and internal departments to coordinate service requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Manage parts, tools, and resources efficiently to minimise downtime.
  • Support training, development, and performance management of team members.
  • Contribute to process improvements and cost efficiency within the service department.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role (ideally within equipment hire, automotive, or plant service industries).
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks, and make quick, informed decisions.
  • A proactive and safety-conscious approach to work.
  • Strong Computer literacy
