RM Recruit Ltd is delighted to be working in partnership with a fantastic organisation based in Solihull who are on the lookout for a Finance Manager to join them on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional who is ready to take ownership of a broad and hands-on role at the heart of a vibrant setting.

As a key member of the finance team, you will support the CFO in overseeing all financial operations for the organisation and its subsidiary companies. This role offers a great mix of strategic involvement, process improvement, and day-to-day financial management, ideal for someone with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for developing robust financial systems.

Main duties include:

  • Lead and manage day-to-day financial operations, including all ledger processes, month-end and year-end accounting, and internal financial controls
  • Supervise the work of Finance officers and support their professional development
  • Manage financial systems
  • Assist the CFO with budgeting, management accounts, and statutory reporting.
  • Liaise with external auditors and coordinate the year-end audit process.
  • Manage payroll operations in coordination with HR, ensuring full HMRC compliance.
  • Oversee VAT compliance, quarterly returns, and claims processes
  • Manage cashflow, bank accounts, and relationships with financial institutions
  • Provide insightful financial reporting to budget holders and support cost-effective purchasing strategies.
  • Collaborate effectively with HR, IT, and external relations departments.
  • Regularly review and improve internal financial processes.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the organisation, aligning financial operations with wider organisational goals.

As the ideal candidate, you will be fully or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Candidates who are QBE will be considered. You will possess strong financial accounting experience, including budget preparation and management and will be cconfident using finance and accountancy software systems. Experience of managing is desirable however not essential and eexperience in the education or charity sector is preferred but not essential.
