Accounts Assistant
We are recruiting for an Accounts Assistant in the Solihull area on a full-time permanent basis. Your role will be to support the Finance Department in its key role of maintaining the integrity of the financial assets of the Company, keeping proper books and records, ensuring adequate controls are in place to detect fraud and error, and to provide historic and forward-looking financial information to internal customers and authorised external agencies.
This role will require you to prioritise and complete tasks in line with deadlines.
As an Accounts Assistant you will need to have/be:
- Experience of purchase / sub-contract ledger - preferably in the Housebuilding sector so aware of CIS requirements
- IT literate with working knowledge of basic Word and Excel Microsoft programmes
- Ideally part or nearly qualified (ACCA, CIMA).
- Proven track record of exam success from school education.
- Knowledge of the housebuilding sector
- Experience on the COINS system
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Professional attitude
- Good team worker
- Self-motivated

- Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours

Role of an Accounts Assistant:
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly cash flow reporting
- Purchase Ledger
- Sub-contract ledger
- Assisting with the monthly bank facility report submission
- All aspects of financial report / KPI's
- Reconciling of supplier statements
- Communication with internal & external stakeholders.
- Other ad hoc activities as may be required from time to time in keeping with the job holder's level of expertise and competence.
- Payments through the BACS system to suppliers and sub-contractors
